Wayfind Marketing was founded by Steve Phipps to help guide business owners through the ever-changing marketing world. Modern marketing is confusing and continues to grow more complex (by the hour, it seems) so we’ve made it our goal to help business owners and leaders like you navigate all the options and filter through the noise to put together a strategy that makes sense for you and that is focused on helping you increase sales, increase brand awareness, and drive your business forward.
What's In a Name?
Wayfinding, according to Wikipedia, ”refers to the techniques used by travelers over land and sea to find relatively unmarked and often mislabeled routes.” We the company was started, we thought this was a really good description of what we do with business owners in the context of marketing. We help you navigate through unmarked, unclear, and often confusing routes to get you to your goals.
You’ll also find that a more application for wayfinding is context of architecture to refer to the user experience of orientation and choosing a path within the built environment
Who We Are
What we are is your outsourced marketing team. We help you on the following levels:
Strategic level by serving as your chief marketing officer
Executive level by serving as your coach
Management level by serving as your marketing manager by providing oversight of your team and marketing vendors
Tactical level by connecting you to marketing experts (web designers, search marketing experts, etc.)
Who We Aren't
We are not a marketing or ad agency. There are a number of great agencies that do great work and we have relationships with a number of these agencies. We aren’t a website design firm or an SEO company.
Who We Work With
We work with business owners of companies ranging from one-person startups to companies with several hundred employees doing business around the world. The common factor in our clients is that they recognize that marketing is a necessity and they want help planning and implementing an effective marketing plan.
Steve started the company after serving as the vice president for LunaWeb, a long-standing web and marketing firm located in Memphis, TN. He started the company based on his desire to focus his attention fully on the marketing side of things.
Steve has served in a number of marketing roles, has owned several businesses including a Chick-fil-A franchise, and has been working with business owners for a number of years. He has worked with companies around the U.S. that range from investor-backed startups to multinational companies serving Fortune 10 clients.
When he’s not at work, you’ll find him spending time with his wife and four kids at home and their miniature zoo (chickens, fish, guinea pigs, dogs, a lizard, and occasionally a turtle). Steve also enjoys a really good cup of coffee and roasts his own at home (he’s a bit of a coffee snob). He is also very active with his church and serves on the board for Area One.
